ATTACHMENT MENT #1, <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO EXTEND THE <br /> TERM OF THE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT AND ITS MEMBERS AN <br /> ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 <br /> WHEREAS, in July 2008, the City Council established the Committee on Energy and the <br /> Environment for an initial term of two years to advise it on energy and environmental issues, strategies, <br /> planning and protections, and opportunities for conservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the duties of the Committee include supporting the intent of the City's General Plan <br /> environmental goals, developing measurable energy strategies related to preservation, prudent use of <br /> natural resources, and other energy and water related matters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee has projects under way as part of the Climate Action Plan <br /> implementation and update and of water supply alternatives studies that will run through the next two <br /> years, and <br /> WHEREAS, the term of the Committee and its current members is ending, and an additional two <br /> year extension is required to address activities now in progress; and <br /> WHEREAS, prior to the Committee's expiration, the City Council may reassess the Committee's <br /> agenda and consider limiting or extending the term as appropriate. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Extend the term of the Committee on Energy and the Environment and that of its <br /> current members an additional two years ending September 30, 2021. <br /> SECTION 2.
