Consider Recommendation to Allocate Housing and Human Services Grant <br /> Funds for Fiscal Year 2019/2020 <br /> Commissioner Sedlak disclosed that he would be using his computer to review items <br /> pertaining to this item. <br /> Mr. Ingram advised that the Agenda Report provides an analysis of the applications and <br /> recommended funding allocations for the 2019/2020 Human Services Grant Funds. He <br /> reviewed a PowerPoint presentation with commissioners advising that HHSG funding <br /> recommendations will provide approximately $470,923 for projects and services that will offer a <br /> direct benefit to low-income Pleasanton residents. <br /> Approximately $215,888 is to be provided from General Funds and is an amount based on a <br /> 4.61% increase in City General Fund revenues from the preceding fiscal year. CDBG funds <br /> are projected to be approximately $255,035. Additional funds to be allocated by the Housing <br /> Commission are $137,027 from the HOME funds and $171,695 from the Lower Income <br /> Housing Fund. Funding recommendations made by the two commissions were to be <br /> considered for final recommendation by City Council in April/May. <br /> Chairperson Parikh opened the meeting for agency presentations at 6:12 p.m. <br /> Child Care Links — Behavioral Health Care Services, Kelly O'Laque Dulka — commented on the <br /> need for mental health services in the Tri-Valley and advised that Child Care Links was <br /> seeking funding in the amount of $25,000 for one-third the salary of a Mental Health Clinician. <br /> Ms. Dulka advised that mental health concerns have been a top priority for a number of year <br /> and is a highly stressed environment for children who are in need of services to help them. <br /> She noted that with mental health being a priority of the Commission she was disappointed at <br /> the funding recommendation in the report and hoped that the Commission would consider a <br /> higher funding recommendation, especially based on a recent Alameda County changes in <br /> funding. <br /> Commissioner Clare asked about funding received by Child Care Links for the previous year <br /> and whether the Behavioral Health Care Services to be provided by Child Care Links would <br /> Human Services Commission <br /> March 6, 2019 <br /> Page 1 <br />
