Tri -Valley <br />Growth Reaches <br />New Heights <br />The Tri -Valley population grew by 2.2% from <br />2017-2o18, more than doubling the growth of <br />Silicon Valley, San Francisco and the Bay Area <br />as a whole. Public companies headquartered <br />in the Tri -Valley grew by 20% in 2018, outpacing <br />the S&P Soo by more than 25%. Venture capital <br />investment in the Tri -Valley exceeded $590 <br />million in 2018, up more than 30% from 2017. <br />Between 2000 and 2o18, the Tri -Valley <br />population grew by 43%, tripling the Bay Area's <br />14% growth.5 During this period, the Tri -Valley <br />created approximately 40,000 newjobs, <br />increasing employment by 24% versus overall <br />Bay Area job growth of 2.2%.
