The Economic Development Department will coordinate with the Finance Department, <br />to track City funds spent with Pleasanton -based companies. This data will be shared <br />with the Pleasanton community as part of periodic messaging that highlights the value <br />and economic impact of supporting local businesses. <br />Doing Business with the C <br />The Economic Development Department will prepare and maintain a Doing Business <br />with the City of Pleasanton guide to educate and assist firms with doing business with <br />the City of Pleasanton, including contract/agreement processes, insurance <br />requirements, and other useful information. <br />The Economic Development Department will promote the Doing Business with the City <br />of Pleasanton guide at scheduled workshops and business networking events <br />throughout the year. The guide and other relevant information will be included on the <br />City of Pleasanton website so that it is easily accessible by Pleasanton -based <br />companies and business -supporting organizations such as the Pleasanton Chamber of <br />Commerce, Pleasanton Downtown Association, Visit Tri -Valley, Hacienda and others. <br />Support Local Campaign <br />The Economic Development Department will develop and implement support local <br />messages and/or campaign to generate awareness among Pleasanton residents of the <br />value and financial impact of patronizing local shops and services. The City will lead this <br />effort while incorporating opportunities for Pleasanton -based companies and business - <br />supporting organizations such as the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, Pleasanton <br />Downtown Association, Visit Tri -Valley, Hacienda and others to participate. <br />EVC Input <br />At the April 18, 2019 EVC meeting members offered initial feedback as noted in the <br />draft minutes (included as item 1 in the agenda packet) but given limited time for <br />comments requested this item be further discussed at the May 16 meeting. <br />Feedback from the EVC on the following questions will help to guide staff in moving <br />forward: <br />• Are there key pillars or activities not included (but could be) in the framework? <br />• What key elements might be included in a Doing Business with the City of <br />Pleasanton guide? <br />• What are the key message(s) that could be incorporated into a support local <br />campaign? <br />• What could be added to or removed from existing programs? <br />ACTION: PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON COORDINATED BUSINESS SUPPORT PROGRAM <br />Attachment — Coordinated Business Support Program Framework <br />Page 3of3 <br />
