He noted the most recent improvement of the mall <br />was in 2005 with the addition of Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang's. With the December <br />2018 extension of the development agreement, the owners of Stoneridge Shopping Center — <br />Simon Properties — received a five year renewal of entitlements to expand the mall; the City <br />will maintain close contact with the owners to anticipate their needs upon commencement of <br />expansion. The presentation covered: <br />• Background: <br />o The 1992 development agreement permitted expansion of the mall by 380,000 <br />square feet <br />o Follows all permitted and conditional uses of the C-R(M) District of the municipal <br />code <br />Project proposal: <br />o Demolition of Sears and parking structure <br />o Construction of <br />■ Three new two-story retail buildings. <br />■ A new two-story mixed-use building with 23,000 -square -foot specialty <br />grocery market, two restaurants, and 40,000 -square -foot cinema <br />■ New three-story 125,000 -square -foot lifestyle fitness facility with 6,000 - <br />square -foot restaurant, or a hotel <br />o Reconfiguration of existing parking/driveway areas and creation of new <br />pedestrian and bicycle access lanes along the inner side of the Stoneridge Mall <br />Road loop <br />• Roadway improvements <br />• Parking standards <br />• Stoneridge Mall framework (included in City Council Work Plan) to outline <br />o Community goals and expectations <br />o Allowed uses <br />o Public amenities <br />• Overall, the project would add about 80,000 new square feet to the center. <br />
