Each year, approximately one family requests a baby burial plot. Other local cemeteries
offer these plots at reduced rates and families often chose to bury their babies in other
communities due to this reduced cost. While the Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery does not
have a dedicated baby section in which to purchase plots, coffins up to 30 inches or
urns can fit into the existing cremains sites located in rows three and four of South Hill
West. The baby plots would include one right of interment per site instead of two like
the adult plots. The proposed fees reflect actual costs incurred by the City for this
service. Based upon the small number of requests, staff does not anticipate an adverse
effect to the budget.
Submitted by: Fisc I eview: Approve&by:
ti (,/l OTh
Heidi Murphy Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Library and Recreation Director of Finance City Manager
Attachments:
1.
