900nerships o
THE CITY OF AGENDA REPORT / 41
CITY COUNCIL AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES rIA /
L£ASANTONE LIAISON MEETING =
P A
PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
April 8, 2019
TITLE: DISCUSSION OF POTENTIAL CO-LOCATION OF PLEASANTON UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT/CITY OF PLEASANTON MAINTENANCE FACILITIES
SUMMARY
As the Pleasanton Unified School District begins to explore its facility needs in regards to the location
of its District offices on First Street, and while the City of Pleasanton evaluates the efficacy and
efficiency of the Operations Service Center at 3333 Busch Road, the possibility of a shared
maintenance facility was discussed and evaluated as a way to better utilize common resources and
expand existing partnerships. A preliminary feasibility study was conducted, listing potential benefits
to both agencies, challenges, and short- and long-term considerations that would result in a co-
located facility. Considering the findings of the report, City and District staff have proposed the
creation of a master plan that includes the relocation of District facilities to a new location, efficiencies
for the reuse of the existing City maintenance facility, and opportunities for the co-location of shared
facilities and services.
RECOMMENDATION
Receive information regarding the preliminary issues assessment report, and to provide feedback
regarding the next steps.
