Commissioners discussed differences between business run organizations and those run by <br />volunteers. <br />Commissioner Carlucci commented on providing additional funding for Child Care Links. He <br />was informed that they had also applied for funding from the cities of Livermore and Dublin. <br />Commissioners discussed funding allocation percentages and moving around some of the staff <br />recommended amounts. <br />Commissioner Hayes noted that NAMI had indicated they had funding available for two more <br />years and commented on when CityServe had first applied for funds. Commissioner Wright <br />felt that NAMI fit the criteria on behavioral health and Commissioner Parekh discussed reasons <br />that CityServe meets funding requirements. <br />Commissioner Carlucci questioned whether unused Capital funds were in an interest-bearing <br />account. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Clare, seconded by Commissioner Wright, <br />recommending grant funds for Fiscal Year 2019/2020 as recommended in Attachment 1 with <br />the following modifications: <br />$4,100 increase for CityServe — Crisis Intervention -Sheltered Residents <br />$1,000 increase for Legal Assistance for Seniors — Legal Assistance <br />$ 850 increase for Easter Seals Bay Area — Kaleidoscope Community Adult Program <br />$1,600 increase for Hope Hospice — Grief Support Center & Hospice Volunteer Program <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES: Commissioners Clare and Wright <br />NOES: Commissioners Carlucci, Hayes, Parekh, Sedlak, and Chairperson Parikh <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Rubino Brumm <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />The motion failed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Parekh, seconded by Commissioner Sedlak, to <br />recommend City grant funding for FY 2019/2020 as presented in Attachment 1 of the Staff <br />Report. <br />Commissioner Hayes indicated that she would like to offer additional funds for Child Care <br />Links Behavioral Health Care Services and Commissioner Carlucci suggested taking $500 in <br />funds from Easter Seals and $1,000 in funds from CityServe and move these funds to Child <br />Care Links Behavioral Health Care Services to make that funding amount $12,500. <br />Chairperson Parikh recommended the $1,500 be deducted from Easter Seals and moved to <br />Child Care Links with no funds being taken from CityServe.
