THE CITY OF 1 7 <br /> - CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> March 19, 2019 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF PROPOSED MEMORANDUM OF <br /> UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND THE <br /> PLEASANTON CITY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION/AFSCME LOCAL <br /> 955 WITH TERM ENDING MARCH 31, 2022 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br /> Pleasanton City Employees Association, AFSCME Local 955 (PCEA) is due to expire <br /> on March 31, 2019. Representatives from PCEA and the City of Pleasanton met and <br /> conferred in good faith and have agreed to a successor agreement. The City's practice <br /> is to introduce the key elements of the proposed MOU, receive input from the public and <br /> allow for open discussion prior to adopting the agreement at the next public meeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Council obtain public input and provide comment <br /> regarding the key elements of the tentative agreement negotiated between the <br /> Pleasanton City Employees Association/AFSCME Local 955 and the City of Pleasanton. <br /> This matter will be included in the agenda for the April 16, 2019 City Council meeting for <br /> adoption. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact to the City budget as a result of implementing the successor <br /> Memorandum of Understanding is approximately $4.7M through March 31, 2022. The <br /> cost in FY 2018/19 is approximately $365,000. There is currently $524,041 available in <br /> the General Fund Contingency. The funding will come from the General Fund <br /> Contingency. <br />
