Commissioner Clare asked about Phase II and implementation of paratransit services study. <br /> She indicated that she would like for this program to go further than just an assessment and <br /> should be made a priority for the commission. Commissioner Hayes agreed. Mr. Dolan <br /> advised that if it is a priority for the commission, City Council would need to know. <br /> Commissioner Wright indicated that she was interested in the homelessness project and <br /> commented on a grant that Alameda County had received from the Federal Government. Mr. <br /> Ingram commented on the HEAP grant needed from Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore for <br /> crisis intervention. Commissioner Wright talked about crisis intervention being taken over by <br /> CityServe. Mr. Ingram provided information on the differences between CityServe and Abode <br /> advising that a framework is being worked on to provide to City Council. <br /> Commissioner Hayes discussed with Mr. Ingram data regarding the number of homeless and <br /> he advised that a count will be available in early spring or summer from Alameda County. <br /> Commissioner Clare felt an initial study had already been completed and further data would be <br /> forthcoming. <br /> Mr. Dolan felt it would not be inappropriate to bring information forward to City Council on this <br /> matter and the goal to turn this into an actionable item and something more applicable to this <br /> location. <br /> Commissioner Wright suggested taking the work that had already been conducted by staff and <br /> putting it together with recommendation from the commission. Commissioner Hayes <br /> questioned whether what is being done by Ms. Hopkins is in the right category. <br /> Commissioner Brumm questioned whether homelessness has not been a priority for City <br /> Council for a number of years. Mr. Dolan advised that higher numbers available now is putting <br /> forward more awareness on this issue. Commissioner Brumm wondered if everyone identified <br /> in the count would like shelter, and if not, whether ways of providing them with a place to <br /> shower and get food has been considered. <br /> Commissioner Hayes discussed the Bernal Community Farm project and making it ADA <br /> accessible so all members of the community can participate. Commissioner Brumm felt <br /> Sunflower Hill could be a partner in this. <br /> Commissioner Subramaniam asked about Health and Safety Issues and Policies mentioned <br /> on page 12 of the Work Plan and questioned who would be on the subcommittee. Mr. Ingram <br /> advised that a subcommittee was already in place made up with representatives from <br /> commissioners, staff and Pleasanton Unified School District. <br /> Chairperson Parikh questioned whether the commission would like to add another project to <br /> those already identified as human service priorities. <br /> Commissioner Hayes asked about a communication plan that would let people in the Tri-Valley <br /> know about services available. Commissioner Clare agreed that this was something the <br /> commission needed to be working on.
