THE CITY OF 1 3 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON® <br /> March 5, 2019 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF <br /> THE GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT AND GROWTH <br /> MANAGEMENT REPORT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2018 AND AUTHORIZE <br /> SUBMITTAL TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF <br /> PLANNING AND RESEARCH <br /> SUMMARY <br /> An Annual Progress Report (APR) on the status of the Pleasanton General Plan <br /> Housing Element has been prepared for the 2018 calendar year, per State law. The <br /> report must be approved by the local legislative body through a resolution and <br /> submitted to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and <br /> the Governor's Office of Planning and Research (OPR) by April 1 of each year to show <br /> the status of implementation of the Housing Element goals, policies, and programs. In <br /> addition, a report on efforts to meet goals of the Growth Management Ordinance is also <br /> included. <br /> HOUSING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> On February 21, 2019, the Housing Commission reviewed the attached APR and <br /> recommended it be forwarded to City Council for approval. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution accompanying this report <br /> that approves the 2018 Housing Element Annual Progress Report and authorizes <br /> submittal of the report to the HCD and OPR. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No financial impact. <br />
