Library and Recreation <br /> 9. Approved proposed public artwork, "Pollinators" to be located at the Oak Woodland at Bernal <br /> Community Park <br /> 10. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute third ammendment to contract with Monte <br /> Vista Memorial Investment Group in the amount of $150,000 for grounds maintenance and burials <br /> at the Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery <br /> Operations Services <br /> 11. Approved the purchase of a 2019 Ford-450 from Ford in the amount of $127,593.08 with outfitting <br /> for traffic marking maintenance <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Narum/Pentin to approve the consent calendar as submitted and as <br /> noted. Presentation of commendation to Bob and Cathy Stanley for 30 years of Bob's World holiday <br /> lights extravaganza <br /> Councilmember Brown read and presented the proclamation to Bob and Cathy Stanley. <br /> 13. Public Comment <br /> Jennifer Bell, resident and fourth grade teacher at Walnut Grove Elementary School reported that <br /> her students recently screened the file, "Straws," which came through a colleague's connection <br /> with Olivia Angus, a clean water activist who is currently working towards passing an ordinance in <br /> Pleasanton to reduce use of the single use plastics. Ms. Bell advised that Jacki Nunez, founder of <br /> The Last Plastic Straw Project, recently spoke to students about the issue and in response, her <br /> students will be addressing Council with their observations, opinions and possible requests for <br /> action. <br /> Olivia Darby, student at Walnut Grove Elementary School, expressed her concern regarding <br /> single-use plastics and noted it is hurting turtles and other wildlife and will damage the Earth. <br /> Piper Cummings, student at Walnut Grove Elementary School, expressed her concern regarding <br /> single-use plastics and noted it is hurting sea animals and the environment. <br /> Mia DeMichiel, student at Walnut Grove Elementary School, recently screened the film, "Straws," <br /> and would like to see single-use plastics banned in schools, restaurants, and in other places due <br /> to pollution in the ocean. <br /> Juliette White, student at Walnut Grove Elementary School, expressed her concern for single-use <br /> plastics and noted the pollution is taking over the ocean and hurting the sea life.
