CLARE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH FOR DESIGN <br /> REVIEW APPROVAL AND A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT,AS FILED <br /> UNDER CASE PCUP-118/PDR-391 <br /> WHEREAS, St. Clare's Episcopal Church has applied for design review and a <br /> conditional use permit approval to expand an existing church facility in <br /> multiple phases, consisting of a new sanctuary and multipurpose room <br /> totaling approximately 19,195 square feet, and other site improvements at <br /> the property located at 3350 Hopyard Road; and <br /> WHEREAS, zoning for the property is RM-2,500 (Multiple-Family Residential) <br /> District.; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 11, 2004, the Planning Commission, after having <br /> considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of <br /> City staff concerning this application, approved only Phase I of the <br /> application consisting of an approximately 4,970-square-foot sanctuary and <br /> multipurpose room extension to the existing church facility; and <br /> WHEREAS, within the time specified by the Pleasanton Municipal Code, Carl Pretzel <br /> and Philip Sayre submitted an appeal of the decision of the Planning <br /> Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 21, 2005, the City Council received a report from the <br /> Director of Planning and Community Development, together with a copy of <br /> the staff report to the Planning Commission, regarding this matter; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held public hearings on July 19, 2005 and September 6, <br /> 2005, at which time the appellants, the applicant, and other members of the <br /> public were offered an opportunity to present evidence regarding this <br /> matter; and <br />
