Section 21.1 Educational Incentive <br /> Effective August 11, 2018 employees who complete qualifying courses or attain the identified degrees <br /> shall receive educational incentive pay on a monthly basis as follows: <br /> Sixty (60) or more accredited college $50/month <br /> semester units-at least twenty-four(24) <br /> units must be in fire science <br /> AA/AS Degree in Fire Science $75/month <br /> BA/BS Degree $125/month <br /> The above education incentive pay is not cumulative. Employees receive the level of compensation that <br /> corresponds to their highest level of educational achievement. <br /> 21.2 City of Pleasanton Fire Department Employees (Grandfathered Plan) <br /> Former members of the City of Pleasanton Fire Department shall continue receiving the grandfathered <br /> educational incentive pay described below or the education incentive pay provided in Section 22.1 above, <br /> whichever is greater. <br /> Employees having enrolled in the educational incentive pay plan on or before July 1, 1988, shall upon <br /> completion of five (5) years of service with the City of Pleasanton Fire Department, receive educational <br /> incentive pay as provided below: <br /> Eligible <br /> Educational Level Positions Pay <br /> A.A. or A.S. in Fire Science Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> Fire Engineer <br /> Sixty (60) accredited Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> semester units of which 24 units Fire Engineer <br /> must be in Fire Science <br /> Ninety (90) accredited quarter Firefighter 2-1/2% <br /> units of which thirty-six (36) must Fire Engineer <br /> be in the field of Fire Science <br /> B.S. or B.A. Degrees Firefighter 5% <br /> Fire Engineer 5% <br /> Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> One Hundred Eighty (180) quarter Firefighter 5% <br /> hour units to include: Fire Engineer 5% <br /> --a minimum of 90 upper division Fire Captain 2-1/2% <br /> 32 <br />
