Effective July 11, 2020, Tier 2 Classic employees shall contribute an additional one-half <br /> percent (0.5%) of their Ca1PERS reportable compensation toward the employer share <br /> (12.5%total employee contribution) for the Ca1PERS 3% @ 55 local safety plan. <br /> C. Employees hired on or after January 1,2013 (Tier 3 New-PEPRA) <br /> Employees hired on or after January 1, 2013 who are defined as "new" members by <br /> Ca1PERS are provided the Ca1PERS 2.7% @ 57 local safety plan with the 36-month final <br /> compensation period. Such employees shall contribute 50%of the normal cost for the 2.7% <br /> @ 57 local safety plan as established by Ca1PERS. <br /> D. PERS Status for Fire Prevention Personnel <br /> The classifications of Fire Inspector and Hazardous Materials Inspector are included in the <br /> Ca1PERS safety plans maintained for the line personnel. <br /> 17.2 Additional Retirement Benefits <br /> All employees shall receive the following additional contracted for optional Ca1PERS benefits: <br /> Section 20965, Credit for Unused Sick Leave <br /> Section 21574, 1959 Survivors Benefit, Fourth Level <br /> Section 21548, Pre-retirement Option 2W Death Benefit <br /> 17.3 Pre-tax Employee Contribution <br /> All contributions paid by employees towards the cost of Ca1PERS pension benefits will be deducted on a <br /> pre-tax basis to the extent permitted by law. <br /> Section 18. Fire Inspectors <br /> The Department recognizes the importance of maintaining a core of trained fire investigators. <br /> Therefore, Fire Inspectors will be encouraged to participate as members of the Alameda County Arson <br /> Task Force. <br /> Section 19. Uniforms <br /> 19.1 Uniform Allotment <br /> The Department shall provide the following uniform items to new bargaining unit members at the time of <br /> employment: three (3) uniform shirts, three (3) uniform pants, a uniform belt and boots. The Department <br /> shall provide the foregoing items at no cost to new employees. However, newly hired employees are <br /> required to pay fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the Department-required items: one (1) ball cap, three <br /> 30 <br />
