CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> January 15, 2019 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE UPDATED MANAGEMENT <br /> AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE COMPENSATION <br /> PLAN - 2018 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Management and confidential employees are not represented by an organized labor <br /> group. Because an organized labor group does not represent these employees, the <br /> City does not negotiate compensation or other personnel-related issues with these <br /> classifications either as individuals or as a group. Instead, the City's past practice has <br /> set forth a series of benefits determined by Council as providing a compensation <br /> package necessary to attract and retain qualified employees, as documented in the <br /> Management/Confidential Employee Performance Compensation Plan ("Plan"). The <br /> City distributed the latest version of the Plan on February 27, 2015. This updated <br /> document captures the changes previously approved by Council. No pay or benefit <br /> enhancements are proposed with the adoption of this document, staff is simply <br /> capturing previously approved modifications, reflecting administrative practices, <br /> regulatory changes and classification title changes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution that approves the amended Management/Confidential Employee <br /> Performance Compensation Plan document. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The recommended amendment does not have a fiscal impact. <br />
