CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 743 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 5-5.02, 5-5.03, AND <br /> 5-5.04 OF ARTICLE 1, (PROHIBITIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS) <br /> CHAPTER 5, (COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REGULATIONS) TITLE V <br /> (VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, STREETS AND HIGHWAYS) OF THE <br /> ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, RELATING <br /> TO PROHIBITION OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ON CERTAIN <br /> STREETS. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 5-5.02 (Prohibition), Section 5-5.03 <br />(Exceptions) and Section 5-5.04 (Movement of Oversize or Over- <br />weight Equipment of Article 1 of Chapter 5 of Title V are <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 5-5.02. Prohibition; Designation of Commercial <br /> Vehicl~'! Ro'~'tes; Exc~'usions; When Pro- <br /> hibi~'i~'h Effective. <br /> <br /> a. Prohibition. No person shall operate any com- <br /> mercial vehicle, as said term is defined in the <br /> California Vehicle Code, having a gross weight, <br /> including load, in excess of three (3) tons on <br /> any street within the City of Pleasanton other <br /> than those streets designated as commercial <br /> vehicle routes in subsection (b) of this section <br /> or excluded from this prohibition in subsection <br /> (c) of this section. <br /> <br /> b. De.signation of Commercial Vehicle Routes. The <br /> prohibition contained in subsection (a) of this <br /> section shall not apply to the following streets <br /> which are hereby designated as commercial vehicle <br /> routes: <br /> <br /> (1) First Street, <br /> (2) Stanley Boulevard, or <br /> (3) Sunol Boulevard. <br /> <br /> c. Exclusions. The following streets or highways <br /> are excluded from the prohibition contained in <br /> subsection (a) of this section: <br /> <br /> (1) any state highway, <br /> (2) any highway that is not under the exclusive <br /> jurisdiction of the City of Pleasanton, and <br /> (3) any City street on which money from the State <br /> Highway Fund has been or is used for con- <br /> struction or maintenance. <br /> <br /> d. When Prohibition Effective. The prohibition con- <br /> tained in subsection (a) of this section shall <br /> become effective when the streets enumerated in <br /> <br /> <br />
