CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 743 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 5-5.02, 5-5.03, AND 5-5.04 OF ARTICLE 1, (PROHIBITIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS) CHAPTER 5, (COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REGULATIONS) TITLE V (VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, STREETS AND HIGHWAYS) OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, RELATING TO PROHIBITION OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 5-5.02 (Prohibition), Section 5-5.03 (Exceptions) and Section 5-5.04 (Movement of Oversize or Over- weight Equipment of Article 1 of Chapter 5 of Title V are hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 5-5.02. Prohibition; Designation of Commercial Vehicl~'! Ro'~'tes; Exc~'usions; When Pro- hibi~'i~'h Effective. a. Prohibition. No person shall operate any com- mercial vehicle, as said term is defined in the California Vehicle Code, having a gross weight, including load, in excess of three (3) tons on any street within the City of Pleasanton other than those streets designated as commercial vehicle routes in subsection (b) of this section or excluded from this prohibition in subsection (c) of this section. b. De.signation of Commercial Vehicle Routes. The prohibition contained in subsection (a) of this section shall not apply to the following streets which are hereby designated as commercial vehicle routes: (1) First Street, (2) Stanley Boulevard, or (3) Sunol Boulevard. c. Exclusions. The following streets or highways are excluded from the prohibition contained in subsection (a) of this section: (1) any state highway, (2) any highway that is not under the exclusive jurisdiction of the City of Pleasanton, and (3) any City street on which money from the State Highway Fund has been or is used for con- struction or maintenance. d. When Prohibition Effective. The prohibition con- tained in subsection (a) of this section shall become effective when the streets enumerated in
