Consultant Selection <br /> A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised and three firms responded. On <br /> December 12, 2017, HMH Engineers, Bellecci & Associates, Inc. and Wood Rogers, <br /> Inc. were invited to interview as part of the consultant selection process. HMH was <br /> ranked as the number one firm following the selection process. Parameters used for the <br /> evaluation of qualifications and interviews included presentation, project understanding, <br /> project approach, members of the project team, and previous experience with similar <br /> projects. City staff met with HMH to determine a detailed scope of work. Following the <br /> meeting, HMH developed and submitted a detailed proposal. City staff reviewed and <br /> evaluated the proposal and verified that previous work performed by HMH was <br /> satisfactory. Staff recommends the award of the design contract to the most qualified <br /> consultant, HMH Engineers. <br /> Budget <br /> The total budget for design and construction this project is $2.75 million, including an <br /> anticipated total design cost of$350,000 depending on the final alignment. Additional <br /> funding may be required to aquire additional right-of-way. To expedite the design <br /> process, Alexander & Associates was authorized to perform the topographic survey and <br /> prepare base sheets for the project, at a cost of$18,000. The $108,000 for the 35 <br /> percent design contract and the $18,000 for the survey work total $126,000, leaving a <br /> balance of approximately $2.62 million available for the final design and construction <br /> costs for the project. <br /> Schedule <br /> The proposed schedule for the project is as follows: <br /> Award of Design Contract December 4, 2018 <br /> Start of 35 Percent Design January 2019 <br /> Completion of 35 Percent Design Summer 2019 <br /> Right-of-Way Acqusition Complete Winter 2019 <br /> Resume Design TBD <br /> Construction TBD <br /> Design <br /> Design of the project will be in close consultation with the Community Development <br /> Department, and the adjacent property owners to aquire additional right-of-way.
