ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 3.32 ALTERNATE BIDDING <br /> PROCEDURES UNDER THE UNIFROM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTINO COST <br /> ACCOUNTING ACT, TO INCREASE THE DOLLAR AMOUNTS FOR LETTING <br /> CONTRACTS BY FORMAL OR INFORMAL PROCEDURES. <br /> WHEREAS, on August 20, 2018, Governor Brown signed Assembly Bill 2249 to <br /> increase the bid limits for the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act, with the new <br /> limits going into effect on January 1, 2019; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has a history of following state law with regard to <br /> public bidding requirements and the Pleasanton Municipal Code (PMC) mirrors state law with <br /> regard to public contracting procedures in PMC section 3.32; and <br /> WHEREAS, an agency must affirmatively adopt the changes in state law in order to take <br /> advantage of the new bid limits. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Amends the Municipal Code bymakingthe followingchanges to i <br /> pSection <br /> 3.32.010, Contracting Procedures for Public Projects: <br /> A. Public projects of$45,000.00 $60,000 or less may be performed by the <br /> employees of the city by force account, by negotiated contract or by purchase order. <br /> B. Public projects of$175,000.00 $200,000 or less may be let to contract by <br /> informal procedures as set forth in Section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code. <br /> C. Public projects of more than $175,000.00 $200,000 shall, except as otherwise <br /> set forth in Section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code, be let to contract by formal <br /> bidding procedure. <br /> Section 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times", a newspaper of general circulation published in <br /> the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the <br /> City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective on January 1, 2019, consistent with the <br /> effective date of AB 2249. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on October 16, 2018 and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council <br /> of the City of Pleasanton on November 6, 2018 by the following vote: <br /> l <br />
