THE CITY `OF 6 <br /> L£�S�NTON� CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> October 2, 2018 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH QUINCY <br /> ENGINEERING FOR THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $165,570 FOR <br /> COMPLETION OF THE DESIGN OF THE UPPER RUBY HILLS, MOLLER <br /> RANCH AND LAUREL CREEK WATER TANKS CORROSION REPAIRS <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 18127 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City conducts cleaning and maintenance of all the water reservoir tanks within the <br /> water distribution system, as well as bi-annual underwater inspections of the interior <br /> coatings of the reservoir tanks. The recent underwater inspection of the interior of the <br /> upper Ruby Hills, Moller Ranch and Laurel Creek tanks has revealed significant <br /> corrosion. Quincy Engineering, who performed the inspections of the tanks developed a <br /> scope of work to fully rehabilitate the tanks, including; coating system replacements, <br /> ladder and vent replacements, structural repairs and repairs to the cathodic protection <br /> system. Staff is recommending award of the design contract to Quincy Engineering to <br /> prepare the final construction plans and specifications for the project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the design professional services agreement with Quincy Engineering of <br /> Roseville, CA, for civil engineering services for the Upper Ruby Hills, Moller Ranch <br /> and Laurel Creek Water Tanks Corrosion Repairs Project, CIP No. 18127, for a not- <br /> to-exceed amount of$165,570. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the attached agreement. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> CIP No. 18127 currently has $220,000 available, which is sufficient to fund the design <br /> services contract. The construction cost is estimated to be approximately $1.8 million. <br /> Funding for the construction will be allocated at the time of construction award. <br />
