THE CITY OF <br /> F -� °"° •'•• r'='" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON, <br /> September 4, 2018 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: DEDICATE A PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES ON <br /> THE KOTTINGER GARDENS PROPERTY LOCATED AT 251 KOTTINGER <br /> DRIVE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> PUD-101 (Kottinger Gardens) will create 185 senior homes and related site <br /> improvements, located at 240 and 251 Kottinger Drive. Both properties are owned by <br /> the City of Pleasanton and are shown on Attachment 1 . The project includes two <br /> phases: Phase 1 , recently completed and located at 240 Kottinger Drive, replaced 50 <br /> senior homes of Kottinger Place with 131 senior homes; Phase 2, currently under <br /> construction and located at 251 Kottinger Drive, will replace 40 senior homes of <br /> Pleasanton Gardens with 54 senior homes. <br /> Phase 2 includes the demolition of all existing buildings and almost all of the utilities at <br /> Pleasanton Gardens. The public utilities (i.e., PG&E, Comcast, etc.) require access to <br /> install, operate, maintain and repair their new on-site facilities to serve the various new <br /> buildings. A public utility easement of varying width is required to provide the needed <br /> access and has been designed in conformance with the approved plans. MidPen <br /> Housing Corporation (MidPen) has prepared the declaration of the public utility <br /> easement and associated documents in coordination with PG&E, Comcast, and staff. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Dedicate a public utility easement to the public utilities on the Kottinger Gardens <br /> property located at 251 Kottinger Drive. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the Declaration of Public Utility Easement. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Clerk to record the Declaration of Public Utility Easement. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There will be no financial impact to the City by dedicating the public utility easement. <br />
