RESOLUTION NO. 18-1039 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ADOPTING <br /> THE 2017 TRI-VALLEY LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley area has exposure to natural hazards that increase the risk to <br /> life, property, environment and the economy; and <br /> WHEREAS, pro-active mitigation of known hazards before a disaster event can reduce <br /> or eliminate long-term risk to life and property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-390) established <br /> requirements for pre- and post-disaster hazard mitigation programs; <br /> WHEREAS, the cities of Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, and the Dublin San Ramon <br /> Services District (Planning Partners) have collaborated to draft the 2017 Tri-Valley Local Hazard <br /> Mitigation Plan (LHMP); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Partners have completed a planning process that engages the <br /> public, assesses the risk and vulnerability to the impacts of natural hazards, develops a mitigation <br /> strategy consistent with a set of uniform goals and objectives, and creates a plan for <br /> implementing. evaluating and revising this strategy. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Adopts in its entirety Volume I and the Introduction and Pleasanton Annex <br /> (Chapter 3), and the appendices of Volume II of the 2017 Tri-Valley Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> SECTION 2. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the <br /> book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on August 21, 2018. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 21st of August, 2018, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown.
