THE CITY OF <br /> pLEASANTON® <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> INVESTMENT ACTIVITY SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS <br /> AS OF JUNE 30, 2018 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Primary City Manned Investment Portfolio <br /> The City of Pleasanton investment portfolio increased significantly by 14,191,282.79 <br /> ($2,166,282.79 towards the General investment portfolio and 12,025,000 invested into <br /> the new Section 115 Trust fund for Pensions), during the Fourth quarter of FY 2017-18, <br /> from $206,078,573 on March 31, 2018 to $204,802,362 on June 30, 2018. For the quarter <br /> ending the yield to maturity on the portfolio was 1.56%, an increase from 1.35%reported <br /> for the quarter ended March 31, 2018. The average days to maturity (ADM) decreased <br /> from 434 days on March 31, 2018 to 423 days on June 30, 2018. <br /> As described in this report, the City's investment in the Local Agency Investment Fund <br /> (LAIF) increased to $50 million up by 12 Million in anticipation of investing into the <br /> Pension Trust Fund. This is a short term investment option available to local agencies in <br /> California administered by the State Treasurer's Office. The quarterly LAIF interest rate <br /> was 1.854% and its ADM was 193 days. During the quarter approximately $23.1 million <br /> in securities matured. Approximately $ 25.3 million of these were reinvested into <br /> significantly higher yielding investments as the yields moved higher with a great deal of <br /> volatility, during the quarter the Fed made a yet another increase to discount rate. The <br /> interest rates on the newly added investments ranged from 2.65% to 2.92%. As of June, <br /> 30st 2018 approximately 69.01% of the total portfolio consisted of U.S Treasuries and <br /> agency securities, LAIF investment was 24.16%of the portfolio. <br /> • Fair Market Value of total portfolio - $205,135,743.73 <br /> • Yield to maturity— 1.56% <br /> • Weighted average days to maturity—423 days <br /> • Fiscal year-to-date net interest earnings—$2,659,617.97 <br />
