BACKGROUND <br /> The Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan, adopted by City Council on November <br /> 18, 2014, identified a storage area as a component of the improvements planned for the <br /> cemetery. The storage area improvements were the second phase of the Pioneer <br /> Cemetery Master Plan improvements, with the first phase being the construction of the <br /> Veteran's Memorial. City Staff contracted with one of their on-call landscape <br /> architecture consultants, Callander Associates Landscape Architecture, Inc., in June <br /> 2017 to take the master plan conceptual design for the storage area and create <br /> biddable construction documents. The project was advertised for construction bid with a <br /> bid opening date established as October 19, 2017. <br /> On November 7, 2017, Pleasanton's City Council awarded the contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder, Guerra Construction Group, in the amount of $326,760. Council <br /> authorized the Director of Engineering to approve change orders up to the project <br /> contingency amount of$33,000. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The project was constructed under budget and on schedule.
