Our research(full proposal attached)will focus on 1) Building a robust dataset of ecological indictors for all Eastern Alameda County 2)Conducting viewshed assessment for all Eastern Alameda County 3) Integrating high priority areas as requested by local non-profits 4) Developing other factors of prioritization with consultation with the Altamont Landfill Open Space Advisory Committee and 5) Ultimately scoring and ranking parcels for their potential for conservations. Deliverables from UCB will include a report"Prioritizing land conservation in Eastern Alameda County."This report will go through internal peer review to assure the highest research standards. In addition to the report, UCB will deliver a database of ranked parcels,scores for each parcel, maps of scored parcels,as well as all datasets developed during the research project. UCB will retains its scientific independence during the research project. However, Dr. Butsic will consult regularly with the Altamont Landfill Open Space Advisory Committee to discuss research progress as well as receive input from the committee.
