BACKGROUND <br /> The Mid-Term Capital Improvement Program (CIP) has been prepared with a focus <br /> of adhering to the current CIP budget unless changes are needed to address <br /> project bids that impact project budgets, changes in funding sources, modifications <br /> needed to address anticipated funding shortfalls, and/or the addition of prioritized <br /> new projects. Information related to expenditures, revenues and transfers is <br /> included in Attachment 2. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> This Mid-Term CIP retains all existing funded and projected CIP projects and <br /> recommends adding eleven new projects and amending six existing projects as <br /> described in Attachment 2. The $7.9 million in increased funding in the Mid-Term <br /> CIP will fund the following projects (1) $500,000 for the Valley Avenue Soundwall <br /> Replacement Project , (2) $550,000 for an Automated License Plate Reader <br /> System, (3) $150,000 for an update to the City's Climate Action Plan, (4) $310,000 <br /> for Pioneer Cemetery Entry and Wayfinding Improvements Project, (5) $500,000 for <br /> basketball court renovations, (6) $645,000 for playground replacements, (7) <br /> $200,000 for a SCADA update, (8) $240,000 for Oak Tree Farm Outfall repairs, (9) <br /> $136,000 for a Bernal Park and Ride Lot, (10) $90,000 for a signal upgrade on <br /> Owens Drive, (11) $300,000 to fund the City's portion of the Tri-Valley Potable <br /> Reuse Master Plan, (12) $410,000 to replace the library roof, (13) a total of $2.2 <br /> million for street improvement projects, (14) $1.3 million to design and construct <br /> westbound Bernal Avenue at First Street to allow a second turn lane, and (15) $1.5 <br /> million for Hopyard Road and Owens Drive intersection improvements. <br /> Based on its review, staff has prepared the attached resolution approving the Mid-Term <br /> CIP and if approved, staff will be moving forward working on those projects funded in <br /> FY 2018/19. <br /> Jointly <br /> Submit y: Approved <br /> /4.A.--- <br /> Brian Dolan Tina Olson Nelson Fialho <br /> Assistant City Manager Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Attachments: <br /> 1.
