RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends the City Council:
1. Receive a briefing on the results of the Joint Tri-Valley Potable Reuse Technical
Feasibility Study and potential next steps;
2. Provide Feedback to Councilmembers Brown and Narum and City staff regarding
the work performed to date by the Tri-Valley Water Liaison Committee; and
3. Authorize the City to continue to explore additional technical investigation of
potable reuse technologies and further evaluate how potable reuse improves
regional water supply reliability compared to other supply options. This work
would continue to be coordinated by the Tri-Valley Water Liaison Committee with
periodic updates provided to the City Council.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
If City Council is interested in further exploring a potable reuse project, the conceptual
next steps and costs will be further defined in coordination with a Tri-Valley Water
Liaison Committee meeting to be held in the summer. Recommended next steps,
including cost sharing between the Tri-Valley Water Agencies, would be presented to
City Council at a subsequent City Council Meeting.
Page 2 of 6
