85. In industrial and commercial developments, fire hydrants shall be installed at spacing <br /> not greater than 300 feet. In residential development(s) hydrant spacing shall be at 400 <br /> feet. <br /> 86. On-site access ways and internal drives shall be designated as fire lanes and identified <br /> as such by red curb striping and posted with signs at locations approved by the Fire <br /> Department. Signs shall be according to state standards and read "No Parking - Fire <br /> Lane" and must be shown on the plans. The following schedule shall apply: <br /> Width Requirements <br /> 36 Feet or Greater No Requirements <br /> Between 28 and 36 Feet Post one side <br /> Between 20 and 28 feet Post both sides <br /> Less than 20 feet Not permitted <br /> Aerial Ops - Width Requirements <br /> 42 Feet or Greater No Requirements <br /> Between 34 and 42 Feet Post one side <br /> Between 26 and 34 feet Post both sides <br /> Less than 26 feet Not permitted <br /> Where Fire Department vehicle access through or around a site involves changes in <br /> direction or curves, minimum-turning radius shall be as follows. Inside radius of 45 feet <br /> and outside radius of 55 feet shall be provided to facilitate fire truck turning radius for <br /> entry and exit from the site. <br /> 87. Dead-end access ways and internal drives shall not exceed 300 feet in length and shall <br /> terminate in turnaround no less than 100 feet in diameter or hammer-head (tee). <br /> Standards and options are available through the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> 88. Address numbers shall be installed on the front or primary entrance for all buildings. <br /> Minimum building address character size shall be 12" high by 1" stroke. If building is <br /> located greater than 50 feet from street frontage, character size shall be 16" high by 1 <br /> '/2" stroke minimum. Where multiple access is provided, address or tenant space <br /> number shall be provided on each access and/or warehouse door and character size <br /> shall be no less than 4" high by 3/4 " stroke. In all cases address numerals shall be of <br /> contrasting background and clearly visible in accordance with the Livermore-Pleasanton <br /> Fire Department Premises Identification Standards. This may warrant field verification <br /> and adjustments based upon topography, landscaping or other obstructions. <br /> 89. LPFD truck aerial access shall be provided at a distance between 15 and 30 feet of on <br /> side of the building. <br /> 90.
