BACKGROUND <br /> The HACA Housing Commission is composed of 12 members: one from each of the <br /> nine cities that HACA serves, one representing the unincorporated areas and two HACA <br /> tenants. The HACA's Governing Board, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors <br /> Alameda County Board of Supervisors makes all appointments to the HACA Housing <br /> Commission from nominees submitted by the respective city council. <br /> The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) operates a number <br /> of programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. <br /> HACA's mission is to deliver housing, housing assistance and related services to low-, <br /> very low-, and extremely low-income; elderly persons and persons with verifiable <br /> disabilities, in order to enable them to live as independently as possible within their <br /> economic resources; and to persons who are not elderly or do not have verifiable <br /> disabilities, for the time necessary to enable them to become self-sufficient and <br /> economically independent. <br /> Approved y: <br /> Nelson Fialho <br /> City Manager <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
