WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Contractor, by demonstrated experience providing service to the City since 1969, reputation and capacity is qualified to provide for both the Collection of Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials within the corporate limits of the City and the Transportation of such material to appropriate places of Processing, Recycling, Composting and/or Disposal, and desires that Contractor be engaged to perform such services on the basis set forth in this Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City and Contractor have mutually agreed to extend and restate the agreement between the City and Contractor dated May 16, 1989, as subsequently amended on October 16, 1990, and October 13, 1995, by entering into this Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1: The City Council approves the Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials and Organic Materials Collection Services, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, to commence on July 1, 2018 and expire on June 30, 2029. SECTION 2: Authorizes the Mayor to execute the above described agreement, attached as Exhibit A. SECTION 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on March 20, 2018.
