TVRT produces at least three main stage shows, two concerts and two summer theater camps
per year. Throughout their history, they have produced over 140 shows, 30 concerts and 33
summer camps showcasing talents of thousands of people.
In 2016, TVRT had two productions listed in the top 10 for Best of 2016 SF Bay Area Theatre
productions by Vince Medina, ("In the Heights" #2, and "Mary Poppins" #6). Their recent
productions of "Les Miserables", "The King and I", and "Jesus Christ Superstar" all received high
praise from critics.
It is proposed that TVRT will produce two professional musicals in the Firehouse Arts Center
this fiscal year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Each production will run for nine to ten
shows with some evening and matinee performances. Adult, children and senior ticketing pricing
will be offered for each show. TVRT will continue their tradition of casting local community
actors in key roles for these performances and they are looking forward to bringing these
performers to the Pleasanton stage.
Given the very high quality of Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre's work and their outstanding success
as a local Pleasanton business for 34 years, the screening committee is recommending that the
service agreement for theatrical production services be awarded to the Tri-Valley Repertory
Theatre for FY 2018/19, with the option of a two year extension of the contract at the end of the
first year.
Submitted by:
Michele Crose
Community Services Manager
Attachment
1. Draft Services Agreement with the Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre for Theatrical Production
Services
