• <br /> I , <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 18-996 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> APPROVING THE AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br /> OF LIVERMORE AND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOR THE LIVERMORE- <br /> PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY <br /> WHEREAS, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint Powers Authority ("LPIFD <br /> JPA") was formed as a separate entity in 1996 to provide fire protection services to Livermore <br /> and Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, the original LPFD JPA agreement was amended in 2000 to better define the <br /> duties of the Fire Chief, roles of primary-council, administrative services and other issues; and <br /> WHEREAS, an Amended and Restated Agreement has been presented to the City <br /> Council to better define the LPFD's duties, responsibilities, and powers, and the LPFD's <br /> relationship to the partner cities as provided in Exhibit A; and <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to sign <br /> the Amended and Restated LPFD JPA Agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: Amends the LPFD JPA Agreement and authorizes the City Manager to <br /> execute said agreement as provided in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. - <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on February 6, 2018. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of Februiary <br /> 2018, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Councilmember Brown <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Karen Diaz, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> 4-6aghkeLf/L-- <br /> Daniel G.
