• I , RESOLUTION NO. 18-996 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON APPROVING THE AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LIVERMORE AND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOR THE LIVERMORE- PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY WHEREAS, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint Powers Authority ("LPIFD JPA") was formed as a separate entity in 1996 to provide fire protection services to Livermore and Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, the original LPFD JPA agreement was amended in 2000 to better define the duties of the Fire Chief, roles of primary-council, administrative services and other issues; and WHEREAS, an Amended and Restated Agreement has been presented to the City Council to better define the LPFD's duties, responsibilities, and powers, and the LPFD's relationship to the partner cities as provided in Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to sign the Amended and Restated LPFD JPA Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1: Amends the LPFD JPA Agreement and authorizes the City Manager to execute said agreement as provided in Exhibit A. SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. - PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on February 6, 2018.
