Karen Gonzales
From: Pleasanton City Clerk SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL.
Subject: FW:Item 7 , Consent calendar Feb 6 , 2018 meeting Provided to the City Council
After Distribution of Packet
From: 0-- ht -18
Sent:Tuesday, February 06, 2018 10:49 AM Date
To: citycouncil@ci.pleasanton.ca.us; Mayor and City Council <citycouncil@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject: Item 7 , Consent calendar Feb 6, 2018 meeting
Item 7 , Consent calendar
Purchase of 67 mobile radios from Motorola Solutions
This item should be removed for further discussion & questions.
The following should be asked:
1 ) This purchase is being made to maintain interoperability with the
East Bay Communications Network (EBRCSA). This Network
consists of many thousands of radios. What is the quantity
discount price Motorola has offered for the full network to move to
the TDMA product?
2) Related to item #1 , Pleasanton should get the volume discount
based on the EBRCSA (should be about $1000 per radio). Not the
price for a single, stand-alone purchase of 67 mobiles (almost
$2000 each).
3) What is being done with the current radios being replaced?
4) Will the current radios be re-purposed by the City?
5) If the old radios are not re-purposed, but sold, what city account
will the funds be credited to? Depending on the radio type &
condition, this could be $25,000+
John Bauer
South Pleasanton
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
