THE CITY OF <br />pL£ASANTON. <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />7 <br />February 6, 2018 <br />Operations Services <br />TITLE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF POLICE RADIOS AND RELATED <br />COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN <br />OPERABILITY WITH THE EAST BAY REGIONAL COMMUNICATION <br />SYSTEM AUTHORITY'S INTEROPERABLE RADIO SYSTEM (EBRCSA) <br />SUMMARY <br />Staff is recommending Council authorize replacement of sixty-seven (67) mobile police <br />radios which need to be upgraded in order to maintain operability on the East Bay <br />Regional Communication System Authority (EBRCSA) system. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Authorize the purchase of sixty seven (67) mobile radios, related equipment, installation <br />and interface software estimated at $365,000. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />A total of $335,000 for police radios and $30,000 for installation ($365,000 total) is <br />budgeted in the FY 2017/18 Equipment Repair & Replacement budget. The purchase <br />will be made through Motorola and installation by RedCloud. <br />
