RESOLUTION NO. 18-989 , <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING <br /> RESOLUTION 10-384 TO CHANGE THE BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN AND TRAILS <br /> COMMITTEE QUORUM REQUIREMENT TO FIVE VOTING MEMBERS <br /> WHEREAS, Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trails Committee (BPTC) was formally <br /> established on June 1, 2010 by Resolution 10-384, when membership was set as twelve <br /> regular members and one alternate, of which nine are voting members; and <br /> WHEREAS, as Resolution 10-384 states that: "A simple majority of the current <br /> membership shall constitute a quorum," seven members is a quorum. However, when <br /> non-voting members do not attend the BPTC is challenged to have a quorum; and <br /> WHEREAS, as the Human Services and Parks & Recreation commissions set <br /> quorum requirements on a majority allowed to vote, the BPTC recommended at its <br /> November 27, 2017 meeting that its quorum be changed to five of nine voting members. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 6 of Resolution No. 10-384 is amended to provide that: <br /> Section 6. Five voting members need to be present to constitute a quorum, and a vote <br /> to approve or deny shall only occur on a majority vote of the members present who are allowed <br /> to vote. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on January 16, 2018. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of January <br /> 2018, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Karen iaz, City Cler <br /> Dated: '/ i/If <br /> APP OVED AS TO FORM: <br /> d le � <br /> Daniel G.
