2005 Pleasanton Plan 2025 DRAFT 11.0 Noise <br />Program 6.1: Limit construction, delivery, and through -truck traffic to designated routes. <br />Program 6.2: Enforce the use of truck routes. <br />Policy 7: Design City streets to reduce noise levels in adjacent areas. <br />Program 7.1: As appropriate, require sound -attenuating paving on streets, earth berms, setbacks, sound walls, and other <br />noise reduction techniques as conditions of development approval. Developers should use sound walls only <br />where other techniques are not feasible. Where sound walls are needed, design and high quality materials, as <br />well as landscaping, should be used to mitigate their visual impact <br />Program 7.2: Attempt to maintain collector streets at 6,000-10,000 or fewer average daily trips (ADT) to ensure acceptable <br />noise levels within adjacent residences. <br />Policy 8: Encourage other agencies to reduce noise levels generated by roadways, railways, airports, rapid transit, and other <br />facilities. <br />Program 8.1: Coordinate with the County Airport Land Use Commission, State Department of Health Services, BART, <br />Union Pacific Railroad Company, Altamont Commuter Express (ACE), Livermore. Dublin, Alameda <br />Coun and other agencies, as necessary, to reduce noise generated from sources outside the City's <br />jurisdiction. <br />Program 8.2: Work with the City of Livermore to address noise impacts of the Livermore Municipal Airport, including the <br />joint monitoring of aircraft noise on a periodic basis. <br />11 Noise Element part 5 11-27 <br />
