CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04-001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF WORKERS' <br />COMPENSATION CLAIMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there is now pending before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board cases <br />concerning a police officer (Gary McCloud) and a retired police officer (Kathryn <br />Masters); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Attorney has requested authority from the City Council to settle these claims in <br />the amounts discussed in the memoranda from the City's Human Resources Manager to <br />the City Attorney; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such requests are reasonable and justified under the circumstances. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Attorney is author/zed to settle the above-mentioned cases in the amounts not to <br />exceed that requested by the City's Human Resources Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND REGULARLY <br />ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT A <br />MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 6, 2004 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico <br />Councilmember Ayala <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Michael H.
