CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAI~EDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 664 <br />i' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE V <br /> RELATING TO DECREASES IN THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS <br />' ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />iiTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />]FOLLOWS: <br /> I. <br /> <br /> On the basis of engineering and traffic investigations with <br /> respect thereto, there is hereby added to the traffic regulations <br /> <br /> of the City of Pleasanton the following regulations relating to <br /> <br />]~speed limits on the following streets within the City of <br /> Pleasanton: <br /> <br /> Section ~5-6.05 of Article 2 of Chapter 6 of Title V is hereby <br /> <br /> amended by the addition thereto of subsections "J" and "K" relat- <br />e! ing to decreases in speed limits on Hopyard Road: <br />i! "J. Hopyard Road. On Hopyard Road from the north end of the <br />~, Del Valle Bridge to Valley Trails Drive north, the speed <br />~ limit shall be 35 miles per hour <br /> <br />i~ K. Hopyard Road. On Hopyard Road from Valley Trails Drive <br />~i north to Stoneridge, the speed limit shall be 45 miles <br />~ per hour <br /> <br />~I This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen days after <br /> <br />~i its adoption in the "TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton and shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its adoption in order to protect the health, <br /> safety and welfare of the residents of the City of Pleasanton in <br /> that immediate reduction of the speed limit on Hopyard Road is <br /> <br />~i necessary to minimize the risk of vehicular and pedestrian traffic <br /> <br /> accidents attributable to increasingly heavy use of said road, <br /> provided further, however, that the provisions hereof shall not <br /> <br /> become operative until appropriate signs are erected and maintained <br /> at appropriate places on the hereinabove described portions of the <br /> hereinabove described street providing notice hereof. <br /> <br /> <br />
