CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 659 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF TITLE II OF THE <br /> ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON BY INCREASING <br /> SEWER SERVICE AND CONNECTION FEES INCLUDING THE SEWER <br /> CONNECTION FEE SURCHARGE <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 2-15.13 of Article 2 of Chapter 8, Title II of the Ordi- <br />nance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to sewer connection <br />fees is hereby amended so as to provide as follows: <br /> <br /> "~ 2-15.13 Connection Charg'es. To establish appropriate pro-. <br /> visions for the construction and expansion of the <br /> sanitary sewerage system of the City of Pleasanton, <br /> inclusive of the treatment plant, or to purchase <br /> capacity in some other system, and to be assured that <br /> the cost of such construction and expansion is borne <br /> by those who receive the benefits thereof, there is <br /> hereby established connection charges for all connec- <br /> tions made to the sanitary sewerage system of the <br /> City of Pleasanton after the effective date of Ordi- <br /> nance No. 467, September 9, 1966, in accordance with <br /> the following schedule: <br /> <br /> a. For each dwelling unit other than those provided <br /> for in subsection (i) hereof, the sum of $635.00. <br /> <br /> b. For each mobile home as defined herein, the sum <br /> of $360.00. <br /> <br /> c. For each commercial or industrial building as <br /> defined herein or other miscellaneous unclassi- <br /> fied uses a sum "C" established by the following <br /> formula: <br /> <br /> C = V <br /> 102,200 x 1/3 <br /> (1 + BOD +ss) x $635.00 <br /> 250 300 <br /> <br /> where: V = Estimated total yearly volume of <br /> discharge from the building, in gallonS; <br /> BOD = Estimated average BOD of the waste <br /> discharged. <br /> ss = Estimated average suspended solids <br /> of waste discharged. <br /> In the event that any of the factors V, BOD or ss <br /> are found to have been estimated too low or too <br /> high such that the collected fee was 10% or more <br /> lower or higher than the correct fee; or if the <br /> customer's discharge has been increased in volume <br /> or strength, the City shall bill or reimburse the <br /> customer for the difference in connection fees. <br /> Payment of any such additional fees shall be a <br /> condition of continued service by the City.
