<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-98-8I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO MODIFY THE ZONING DISTRICT IN <br />WHICH EXTRASENSORY CONSULTING AND RELIGIOUS EXTRASENSORY <br />CONSULTING WOULD BE A PERMITTED OR CONDITIONALLY PERMITTED <br />USE AND BY MODIFYING RELATED PROVISIONS, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />RZ-98-06 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Municipal Code currently only allows psychic readings to be <br />conducted within the Industrial Park (I-P) and General Industrial (I-G) Districts <br />upon obtaining a conditional use permit; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed of public hearing of October 28, 1998 the Planning <br />Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations of the City staff concerning the amendment to the Municipal <br />Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed modifications to the <br />Municipal Code expand the districts in which extrasensory consulting may occur <br />and that these changes provide sufficient locations for such uses and opportunities <br />for free speech while protecting the Downtown retail character and limiting noise <br />and traffic impacts. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Recommends approval of Case RZ-98-06, the application of the City of <br />Pleasanton to amend Chapter 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to read as set <br />forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br />
