<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-98-57 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF SAFEWAY, INC. FOR <br />DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-98-71 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Safeway, Inc., has applied for design review approval for an expansion of the <br />Safeway headquarters facility including construction of a new five-story, 209,000 <br />square foot office building with a two-level underground parking garage and an <br />elevated parking deck located at 5900-5940 Stoneridge Mall Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is CR(P) (Regional Commercial - peripheral) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of July 22, 1998, the Planning Commission after <br />considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff, approved the Negative Declaration prepared for the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed project is appropriate for <br />the site and that the proposed building will enhance and compliment the <br />surrounding area. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Approves Case Z-98-71, the application of Safeway, Inc. for design review <br />approval for an expansion of the Safeway headquarters facility including <br />construction of a new five-story, 209,000 square foot office building with a <br />two-level underground parking garage and an elevated parking deck located at <br />5900-5940 Stoneridge Mall Road, subject to the conditions shown in Exhibit "B," <br />attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption <br />unless appealed prior to that time. <br />
