<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-98-56 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NEGATIVE DECLARATION PREPARED FOR <br />THE APPLICATION OF SAFEW A Y, INC., AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-98-71 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Safeway, Inc., has applied for design review approval for an expansion of the <br />Safeway headquarters facility including construction of a new five-story, 209,000 <br />square foot office building with a two-level underground parking garage and an <br />elevated parking deck located at 5900-5940 Stoneridge Mall Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is CR(P) (Regional Commercial- peripheral) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received and reviewed the Initial Study dated <br />July 22, 1998, and received the recommendations of staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 22, 1998, the Planning Commission received a proposed <br />negative declaration prepared for the proposed project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the public was given the <br />opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the potential impacts in accordance with <br />the applicable state and local guidelines governing the preparation of Negative <br />Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed project would not have a <br />significant environmental impact. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves the Negative Declaration prepared for the application of Safeway, Inc., for <br />design review approval for an expansion of the Safeway headquarters facility <br />including construction of a new five-story, 209,000 square foot office building with a <br />two-level underground parking garage and an elevated parking deck located at <br />5900-5940 Stoneridge Mall Road. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption unless <br />appealed prior to that time. <br />
