<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-98-48 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL INITIATE AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO REDUCE THE PARKING RATIO <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR BANKS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 8, 1998, the City of Pleasanton Planning Commission, during <br />its review of a proposed addition to the recently-approved Mt. Diablo National <br />Bank, discussed issues regarding the parking ratio requirements for banks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that due to the changes in the banking <br />business due to technology not as many people or businesses actually visit banks <br />to conduct business; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the Municipal Code requirement for <br />bank parking at a ratio of I space per 150 square feet is outdated and excessive <br />and that the reduction to 1 space per 300 square feet to match offices and general <br />retail more appropriately reflects the parking needs for banks. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Recommends that the City Council initiate a change to the Municipal Code <br />requirement for bank parking to allow banks to be assessed the same parking ratio <br />requirement as other office and commercial uses (1 space per 300 square feet). <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br />
