Commercial radio and ,...television. aRE! eellalar tBl~1l1ulBe aerials, antennas, <br />and transmission towers, with design review approvals specified under Chapter <br />IS.20 of this Title, shall be located within a nonresidential district on a site having <br />a minimum distance of one thousand feet (1,000') from the 1-580 and 1-680 rights <br />of way. <br /> <br />The height of the aerial/antenna/tower shall be based on a visual analysis <br />demonstrating that views of the aerial/antenna/tower are minimized or are <br />substantially screened from residential land uses, or other sensitive land uses such <br />as parks, schools, or other major streets, and on an engineering analysis justifying <br />the height of the proposed aerial/antenna/tower. <br /> <br />Any parabolic dish mounted on the aerial/antenna/tower shall be less than two <br />feet (2') in diameter. The base of the aerial/antenna/tower and any switching <br />facility located at the base that is visible to the public shall be architecturally <br />treated and/or screened from view utilizing on- and/or off-site vegetation or other <br />approved screening mechanism. <br /> <br />Remainder of Chapter IS.S4, no changes. <br /> <br />5. Chapter 18.110 Personal Wireless Service Facilities <br /> <br />(Proposed new Chapter) <br /> <br />18.110.005 Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose and intent of this Chapter is to provide a comprehensive set of <br />standards for the development and installation of personal wireless service facilities. The <br />regulations contained herein are designed to protect and promote public safety and <br />community welfare, property values, and the character and aesthetic quality of <br />Pleasanton, while at the same time not unduly restricting the development of personal <br />wireless service facilities, and not unreasonably discriminating among personal wireless <br />service providers of functionally equivalent services. <br /> <br />18.110.010 Applicability <br /> <br />A. This Chapter shall apply to all property owned by private persons, firms, <br />corporations or organizations, and property owned by the City, including public streets <br />and alleys, and property owned by any agencies of the City, or by any local, state, or <br />federal government, agency, or political subdivision thereof required to comply with local <br /> <br />RZ-97-7 <br />3/25/98 <br />RZ977A4.sam/RKE <br /> <br />Page 5 <br />
