<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-98-15 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF THE <br />SAN JOAQUIN REGIONAL RAIL COMMISSION FOR APPROVAL OF THE <br />PROPOSED INTERIM STATION IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE ALTAMONT <br />COMMUTER EXPRESS STATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission has applied for approval of the <br />proposed interim station improvements for the Altamont Conunuter Express <br />station to be located in the Union Pacific railroad right-of-way and the parking to <br />be located on land owned by Alameda County and on a portion of City property <br />immediately north of Bernal Avenue, east of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, <br />south of West Angela Street, and west of the existing Union Pacific railroad <br />tracks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is Agricultural; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duIy noticed public hearing of March 11, 1998, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance was previously prepared <br />and adopted in November 1994 by the County of San Joaquin Department of <br />Public Works, therefore, no environmental documentation was prepared for this <br />project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed site appears adequate to <br />handle the Pleasanton interim station as conditioned and that the measures which <br />have been recommended will ensure that the impact of the station are minimized <br />to the greatest extent possible. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />
