▪ Continued to monitor the implementation and track the <br />success of the Downtown Hospitality Guidelines. <br />• Sent our monthly e-newsletter for members and a monthly Member to Member Promotions e- <br />newsletter. <br />• Distributed A Guide to Downtown Outdoor Displays to all BID members and available at the City <br />for new businesses. <br />• Created opportunities for business networking with three membership mixers in February, June <br />(partnering with the Chamber of Commerce) and November. <br />Held the PDA Installation Mixer — highlights included installation of the 2017 Board of Directors <br />by Mayor Thorne, recognition of the departing directors and recognition of the 2016 NEAT award <br />recipients. <br />• Held the PDA's Annual Meeting (free for all members to attend) where the PDA Board provided a <br />full review of 2016 for all PDA members in attendance. <br />• Continued a proactive approach toward downtown vacancies by maintaining an inventory of <br />potential tenants, assisting property owners in listing available properties and working with the <br />city's Economic Development Director. Met with property owners, tenants, potential tenants <br />and commercial agents. <br />• Continued to work with the City to support the efforts underway as a result of the Parking Study <br />and Implementation Plan and continue to address the ongoing need for parking stock <br />management and growth throughout our downtown. <br />• Sent over 65 press releases that were picked up by numerous media outlets throughout the Bay <br />Area. We experienced very high media pick up which included numerous articles and live on- <br />camera interviews by ABC 7, Fox News, CBS 5 and TV30. <br />• Continued to increase strategic alliances and collaborate with community partners: Pleasanton <br />Chamber of Commerce, Livermore Downtown Association, Firehouse Arts Center, Pleasanton <br />Cultural Arts Foundation, Valley Humane Society, Museum on Main, Pleasanton Library, <br />Pleasanton Heritage Association, Alameda County Fairgrounds, Livermore Valley Winegrowers <br />Association, Tri-Valley Conservancy and Visit Tri-Valley. <br />• Assisted numerous downtown communities providing tours and information as well as sharing <br />the success of our organization and our downtown. Our Executive Director was a session <br />presenter at the California Main Street Alliance Annual Conference in March. <br />• Our Executive Director continues to serve as a member of the California Main Street Alliance <br />Board of Directors and was re-elected as President of the Board for a second consecutive year. <br />▪ Received commendation for program achievements and recognized as both a California and <br />National 2017 Main Street Community. <br />▪ Received recognition for the downtown district as "2017 Best of..." awards by the Pleasanton <br />Weekly. <br />• Maintained status as a Community of Character Organization. <br />• Sustained focus on our 4 key priorities: <br />Expand and Improve Parking in Downtown <br />Continue to work closely with the City of Pleasanton to identify opportunities to add to <br />the overall parking stock in Downtown and effectively manage the existing parking. Work <br />with all stakeholders to execute the Downtown Parking Study & Strategy draft created in <br />2016. Also look at ways in which the overall traffic flow of Downtown can be improved <br />(i.e.: left hand turn signal at St. John Street from northbound Main Street). <br />3 <br />
