CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-117 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A GRANT APPLICATION FOR MEASURE B <br />BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN COUNTYWIDE DISCRETIONARY FUNDING <br />FOR THE IRON HORSE TRAIL PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in November 2000, Alameda County voters approved Measure B, a half-cent <br />transportation sales tax to finance projects to improve the County's transportation <br />system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA) is <br /> responsible for administration of the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian <br /> Countywide Discretionary Fund; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) has indicated its intention to submit a <br />grant application to ACTIA under the Bicycle and Pedestrian Discretionary Fund <br />for the Pleasanton section of the Iron Horse Trail; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council designated the Iron Horse Trail as its top trail priority in the <br /> Community Trails Master Plan Update in 2002. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Supports the grant application by East Bay Regional Park District for funding <br />under the Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian County Discretionary Fund for the <br />Iron Horse Trail. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Authorizes the City Manager to act as the City's agent in conducting negotiations, <br />and executing and submitting any required documents including, but not limited <br />to, agreements, payment requests, etc., which may be necessary for completion of <br />the Project. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br />This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
