CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1786 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 (PART) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1676 AND SECTION 2.39.020 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING MEMBERSHIP OF THE CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2 (Part) of Ordinance No. 1676 and Section 2.39.020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.39,020 Membership; Compensation A. The Civic Arts Commission shall be comprised of seven (7) members and an alternate. One member shall be a member of the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council. At least two (2) members shall be working artists. "Working artists" shall be defined as those persons who have enjoyed success in the exhibition of their works and enjoy the professional respect of their peers, or are engaged as instructors of art, or have been engaged as art museum directors, gallery curators or docents, or art consultants. All members shall be residents of the City and shall be committed to furthering public art and the cultural life of the community. B. Members shall be compensated as established by City Council resolution." Section 2: A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage and adoption.
