CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1786 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 (PART) OF <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1676 AND SECTION 2.39.020 OF THE <br /> PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING <br /> MEMBERSHIP OF THE CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 2 (Part) of Ordinance No. 1676 and Section 2.39.020 of the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 2.39,020 Membership; Compensation <br /> <br /> A. The Civic Arts Commission shall be comprised of seven (7) members and <br /> an alternate. One member shall be a member of the Pleasanton Cultural <br /> Arts Council. At least two (2) members shall be working artists. "Working <br /> artists" shall be defined as those persons who have enjoyed success in the <br /> exhibition of their works and enjoy the professional respect of their peers, <br /> or are engaged as instructors of art, or have been engaged as art museum <br /> directors, gallery curators or docents, or art consultants. All members shall <br /> be residents of the City and shall be committed to furthering public art and <br /> the cultural life of the community. <br /> <br /> B. Members shall be compensated as established by City Council resolution." <br /> <br />Section 2: A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after <br /> its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published <br /> in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen <br /> (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> <br />Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage <br /> and adoption. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on <br />September 7, 1999. <br /> <br /> <br />
