ORDINANCE NO. 2169 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 18.110 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE (PERSONAL WIRELESS <br /> SERVICE FACILITIES) TO ALLOW FOR SMALL-CELL-WIRELESS SYSTEMS IN THE <br /> HACIENDA BUSINESS PARK WHERE THE SYSTEMS ARE CONCEALED <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council recognizes the importance of increasing cellular capacity and <br /> coverage through small-cell-wireless systems and wishes to promote these systems by adopting <br /> this ordinance, <br /> WHEREAS, the Hacienda Business Park and the City of Pleasanton desire to share the <br /> revenue generated from the leasing of the interior of streetlight poles within the City-right-of-way <br /> in the Hacienda Business Park, <br /> WHEREAS, "smart poles" will be installed to replace the existing streetlight poles and will <br /> result in improved cellular coverage and capacity for residents, businesses, and visitors to <br /> Hacienda while at the same time maintaining the aesthetic qualities that the citizens of Pleasanton <br /> desire <br /> WHEREAS, on August 23, 2017, the Planning Commission reviewed the proposed <br /> amendments to Chapter 18.110 and recommended approval to the City Council <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Amends Pleasanton Municipal Code Chapter 18 110 (Personal Wireless <br /> Service Facilities) as shown in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times", a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City <br /> Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption <br /> SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and <br /> adoption <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on September 5, 2017, and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council <br /> of the City of Pleasanton on September 19, 2017 by the following vote <br /> Ayes Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes. None <br /> Absent. None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> 1 <br />
