Chapter 2.33 <br /> PLEASANTON PUBLIC LIBRARY <br /> <br />Section 2.33.010 Public Library Established <br /> <br />The City. does establish the Pleasanton Public Library and adopLs the provisions of the State of <br />California pertaining to public libraries as set forth in Education Code § 18900 et seq. regarding <br />the regulation and maintenance of a public library. <br /> <br />Section 2.33.020 Library Board of Trustees Created <br /> <br />There is created a Pleasanton Library Board of Trustees, hereafter referred to as the Board. <br /> <br />A. The Board shall consist of five (5) members. <br /> <br /> B. The members of the City. Council shall serve as the Board. <br /> <br /> Section 2.33.030 Organization: <br /> <br /> The Mayor shall serve as the Board president, and the Vice-Mayor shall serve as the Board <br /> vice-president. <br /> <br /> Section 2.33.040 Meetings: <br /> <br />A. Meetings shall be held at least annually, with a time, date and place noticed in accordance <br /> with Section B below. <br /> <br />B. Special meetings may be called at any time by the Board president or by three trustees <br /> when notice is provided as required by the Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code § <br /> 54950.5 et seq.). <br /> <br /> C. A majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum for conducting business. <br /> <br /> D. The City Clerk shall keep a proper record of Board proceedings. <br /> <br /> Section 2.33.050 Duties and Responsibilities: <br /> <br /> A. The Board may make and enforce all rules and regulations necessary for the <br /> administration, government, and protection of the libraries under its management, and all <br /> property belonging thereto. <br /> <br /> B. The Board shall have the authority regarding administration, purchase and disposition as <br /> provided by Education Code § 18900 et seq., as may be amended. <br /> <br /> <br />
